local rules
- OUT OF BOUNDS:
All areas beyond the inside line of boundary fences, residential properties, tunnel behind the 15th green, and white & black stakes and the beyond the cart path at the rear of the eighteenth green (mini golf) is considered OOB.
Players may now take a two-shot penalty drop on the fairway no nearer to the hole where the ball last crossed the fairway, rather than going back to position of last played shot.
- PENALTY AREAS:
Penalty areas replace water hazards, you can move loose impediments, ground your club, and take practice swings in Penalty Areas without penalty, just as you can on the fairway or in the rough. Penalty Areas are defined by red stakes and where red lines are in existence.
- DROP ZONES:
To be used where designated (under penalty of one shot) unless stated as free drop zone.
- MAXIMUM SHOT:
In stroke play, players are allowed to pick up on a hole once they have exceeded the maximum shot limit. Maximum shot is now Double Par + 3 shots. Par 3 – Pick up on 9th Shot, Par 4 – Pick Up on 11th Shot, Par 5 – Pick up on 13th Shot.
NOTE Maximum Shot rule is removed for honour board events.
- IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS
All roads and pathways constructed of artificial materials; hazard stakes; staked trees; irrigation boxes; course indicator signs; tee signs; stone structures; roped areas; drains with artificial materials; fixed sprinkler heads, Kangaroo footprints in bunkers. Note: Where a ball lies within two (2) club lengths of a sprinkler head, and is not in a hazard, and the sprinkler head is within two (2) club lengths of the putting green and intervenes with the line of play, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty at the nearest point of relief from where the ball lay, no nearer the hole.
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR:
Areas defined by white stakes and/or white lines and/or GUR signs: abnormal ground conditions, Construction areas; wheel ruts and depressions created by maintenance Vehicles – except in a hazard- compulsory drop.
- EXPOSED TREE ROOTS:
All exposed tree roots in the fairway or rough are to be treated as GUR and players are entitled to a free drop. This does not apply in penalty areas.
- HOLE 7:
If a player’s TEE SHOT carries over the green and finishes in the Penalty Area they must use either 17.1D(1) Stroke and Distance only, or proceed to the Drop Zone. These are the only two options if the TEE SHOT crosses the timber retaining wall/green and finishes in the penalty area. Any shot after the players tee shot that enters the penalty area is to use penalty area rules: Stroke & Distance, Two Club Length Relief from Point of Entry, or Back on the Line Relief with all relief options incurring a 1 shot penalty.
- HOLE 13 (PROVISIONAL BALL):
If there is doubt whether a ball is in or is lost in the Penalty Area, a provisional ball may be played under any of the applicable options of Rule 18-3. If the original ball is found outside the Penalty Area, the player must continue play with it. If the original ball is found in the Penalty Area, the player may either play the original ball as it lies or continue with the ball played provisionally.
- HOLE 14:
Bridge, the bridge is to be considered as NOT in Penalty Area and therefore if your ball comes to rest on the bridge free relief shall be taken nearest point of relief no closer to hole.
- BEACH BUNKERS ON HOLES 1, 17 & 18:
- Please treat Penalty Area as water’s edge. If your ball crosses the bunker area and finishes in the water you must use a designated Drop Zone on the grass which is no nearer the hole to where your ball last crossed the Penalty Area with a 1 shot penalty incurred.
- TIMBER RETAINING WALLS:
Surrounding 7/18 Hole Greens
The timber retaining walls used on the 7th and 18th holes greenside is to be treated as an integral part of the course if the ball is deemed unplayable you must proceed under rule (Ball Unplayable)
- PLAYER INFORMATION:
Measurements on sprinkler heads are to the centre of the green. All wildlife on course is protected and may be dangerous. Do not approach at any time.
- CONDITIONS OF PLAY:
Players must take direction from the course ranger and maintenance staff. Players must repair divots, pitch marks, rake bunkers, replace rakes with tines in the sand and handles out, in line of play.
- NTP MARKERS:
If putting on the green players must remove NTP Markers if in your putting line or through line. Penalty of 1 shot will occur if you hit an NTP Marker, then subsequently play ball where it comes to rest. If you’re off the green and you hit the marker no penalty occurs
- PACE OF PLAY:
If a group in competition play falls more than one (1) hole behind a warning is to be given from the proshop, if no effort has been made to speed up the group will: in stableford be asked to wash the hole and move on to the next, in stroke play be penalised 2 shots. It is the responsibility of the low marker in the group to monitor and maintain pace of play. In the event of unreasonably slow play it is at the clubs discretion to disqualify players from the competition.
- DOUBT AS TO PROCEDURE:
A player who is uncertain about the right procedure while playing a hole may complete the hole with two balls without penalty. The player should choose which ball will count if the rules allow the procedure used for that ball, by announcing that choice to his or her marker or to another player before making a stroke. The player must report the facts of the situation to the match committee, even if they record the same score with both balls, before returning their scorecard. If they fail to do so, they will be disqualified.
- RECORDING AREA:
Scorecards are to be returned to the scoring area situated in the clubhouse. A player is deemed to have left the scoring area when they set foot outside of the clubhouse.
- MEASURING DEVICES:
Rule 4.3a(1) permits the use of a distance measuring device to obtain information on distance but not elevation changes.
- PENATLY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE: Stroke play: 2 strokes. Match play: Loss of hole.
